Choral Music
The SSU Choral Program, under the direction of Jenny Bent, maintains a very busy schedule of rehearsals, performances, tours, and retreats. Singers share the experience of performing beloved and notable choral works, while acquiring significant technique and scholarship that will help prepare them for professional careers in music.

Auditions
How do I join the SSU Choral Ensembles?
Students
I am a student. When are the placement auditions?
Monday, January 14 from 6-9:30
Tuesday, January 15 from 1-5
Wednesday, January 16 from 6-8.
If you have class conflicts during these audition times, please contact Dr. Bent (bentje@sonoma.edu), and she will try to accommodate you.
SSU students can sign up for an audition time on Dr. Bent’s office door (GMC 2071) or send an email to bentje@sonoma.edu to request a particular time.
Community Members
I am a community member. When can I audition?
Community members who wish to sing can schedule an audition on one of the dates above.
Community members can also schedule an audition by emailing Dr. Bent (bentje@sonoma.edu) or calling her at 707-664-3925.
Additional audition times for students and community members will be made available at the first SSU Symphonic Chorus (formerly University Chorus) rehearsal on Monday, January 21st. .
What should I prepare for the audition?
Singers are asked to bring one prepared piece of his or her choosing or may choose from one of the three pieces available outside Dr. Bent’s door (GMC 2071).
