CSU Tax Sheltered Annuity (TSA) Program Promotion Weeks

The CSU Tax Sheltered Annuity (TSA) Program is an optional benefit for all CSU employees (with the exception of certain student positions). It offers a robust, manageable selection of investment choices from five Fund Sponsors (Fidelity, ING, MetLife, TIAA-CREF and VALIC) and allows employees to manage monthly contributions via Retirement Management.

Plus, employees can choose to invest in one, two, three, four or ALL five fund sponsors - the choice is yours! With 2011 quickly approaching, now is a good time to enroll and/or to re-evaluate your monthly TSA contribution.

For the month of November and December, Payroll and Benefits office has invited representatives from the following Fund Sponsors to visit our campus and to help you with retirement planning. They will meet you in person, discuss their specific 403(b) programs, and answer your questions. All scheduled sessions will be held in the Ives Hall, Room 79 from noon to 2 p.m.

• Fidelity - Mon., Nov. 15
• ING Life & Annuity - Tues., Nov. 16 and Thurs., December 9
• MetLife - Wed., December 8
• Savings Plus Program - Thurs., Nov. 18 and Tues., December 7
• VALIC - Fri., Nov. 19 and Mon., December 6

Unfortunately, TIAA-CREF cannot attend during these two months. As an alternative, Savings Plus Program is invited to discuss 457 and 401(k) as an additional option for tax deferred savings.

Even if you are enrolled in the CalPERS or PST retirement program, most of our employees will need to supplement retirement benefit with additional retirement savings. Setting aside a portion of your salary now will help you secure your retirement in the future. With a minimal investment of just 50 cents a day, you can take advantage of "compounding," which means your money generates earnings as your funds are re-invested over a period of time. Plus, there are additional opportunities to invest beyond the limit if you are age 50 or older, and/or have worked for the CSU for 15 years or more and missed opportunities to invest earlier in your CSU career.
