Changes to the academic calendar for Spring 2012 have been announced by President Ruben Armiñana, allowing students to have a greater range of options for summer employment and supplementary classes, and will bring SSU more in-line with other CSU semester campuses.
In place of the January intersession, Extended Education will offer an intersession beginning immediately after Spring Commencement. Housing will ensure that students housed on-campus have a reasonable-cost option for staying on campus during the May-June intersession.
The change was announced at the end of March, after consultation between President Armiñana, the Executive Committee of the Academic Senate, and all campus divisions.
"The Deans and Provost have assured me that there are no insurmountable scheduling difficulties," says President Armiñana, "and the Provost and I will assist programs that need to re-work arrangements with community programs to fit the new schedule."
