James Abriel, Missing Student

abriel.pngFR: President Ruben Armiñana

I am very sad to report that our student, James Abriel, who has been missing for approximately two weeks, was found deceased on Saturday, May 7. It is such a tragedy to lose a person who is just beginning his or her adult life and our hearts go out to his family and friends.

I would like to remind our students that there are many services available on campus for those who feel they could benefit from a confidential conversation with a professional counselor through our Counseling and Psychological Services.

If you would like to talk with someone or make an appointment, please call (707) 664-2153, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.

For immediate response when CAPS is closed, please call SSU Police Services at (707) 664-4444 or Sonoma County Crisis Line at (707) 576-8181. Both are available 24 hours a day. Also the CAPS website at http://www.sonoma.edu/counselingctr/ provides some "Healthy Tips for Finals."
