"At first I thought it was too much work as a class project to create a business and develop it into a profitable organization" reports John Douglas, an SSU senior majoring in Business. "Yet I discovered that anything is possible if you get up and work for it."
John was describing the challenge that Professor Liz Thach presented the 41 students in Bus 452 Leadership class this semester: working in a team, create a business with a goal of making a net profit of $250 by May 1 which would be donated to a charity of their choice.
Building on class concepts such as strategic, creative, and participative leadership, the teams identified business concepts ranging from selling products such as t-shirts or food, and offering services such as dog walking and sports tourism.
