Quit Smoking Now During the Great American Smokeout!

nosmoke.pngThe third week of November is the Great American Smokeout, which is a campaign to stop people from smoking cigarettes. Sonoma State students who currently smoke can sign a pledge at the Student Health Center between now and Nov. 23 to quit smoking for at least the next 24 hours, and receive a free flu shot, a sticker and treat. Faculty and staff who also currently smoke can also sign the same pledge between now and Nov. 23 to get a flu shot for a discounted price of $16.

Ever thought about cutting loose from smoking? Join the Great American Smokeout along with millions of other smokers in saying "no thanks" to cigarettes for at least 24 hours.

There will be many people attempting to quit by joining other smoke out "quitters" & gaining support from the American Cancer Society, SSU Student Health Center, & others who will be cheering them on!

In order to help motivate and support quitters:

Student Health Center staff & volunteers are handing out "Quit Packets" in front of the Student Health Center and available in the SHC Foyer, while supplies last.

Smokers are at higher risk of flu complications, so those who smoke would benefit greatly from a flu shot.
