Diverse-City is an exhibition running through May 27 on campus that showcases the work of student artists who are part of the diverse community found at Sonoma State University. It includes art that centers around themes of gender, race or ethnicity. These emerging artists are using the University Library Art Gallery as a forum to share their work with the rest of the University and Library visitors. The high visibility of the library gallery is perfect for bringing these charged and challenging issues to the greater college community.
Student artists include Michelle Follet, Halle Siepman, Craig Peterson, Crystal Galindo, Sophie Benjamins, Xiomara Pena, Alma Valverde, Angela de la Cruz. The exhibit is curated by Carlos Merino de Villasante.
The University Art Gallery is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and noon-5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
