English Professor Gillian Conoley is now serving as a judge for the Omnidawn's Poetry Chapbook Contest.Omnidawn, holds poetry competitions year round, bringing in distinguished literary professionals to evaluate new poetic works for publication.
Conoley became a professor at SSU in 1994, and in 1996 she took over the Small Press Editing program, now referred to as Volt. She is the author of seven collections of poetry, including The Plot Genie, Profane Halo, Lovers in the Used World, and Tall Stanger, a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award.
Omnidawn will publish her newest book, PEACE, in Spring 2014. Her work has received many prizes, including the Jerome J. Shestack Poetry Prize from The American Poetry Review, a National Endowment for the Arts grant, and a Fund for Poetry Award.
