Vocal Instructor Zachary Gordin Performs Hahn's Favorite Pieces

zachary gordinSonoma State University vocal instructor and acclaimed baritone Zachary Gordin will perform with pianist Bryan Nies to present for an intimate recital of vocal music highlighting the works of Venezuelan-French composer Reynaldo Hahn at 7:30 p.m. on April 27 in Schroeder Hall at the Green Music Center.

Gordin will sing Hahn's "Chansons Grises" along with other favorites. Gordin and Nies will be releasing an album of Hahn songs under the MSR Classics label. Zachary Gordin is renowned as a dynamic and engaging artist, bringing masterful singing and strong physicality to a wide variety of roles - from baroque heroes to contemporary works written specifically for him.


Nies is the assistant conductor of the Oakland East Bay Symphony, lecturer at Stanford University, former principal conductor of Festival Opera, and continues to conduct symphonic concerts and modern opera, such as the West Coast premiere of Laura Kaminsky's transgender opera, "As One."


Tickets are $8 for general admission (parking included), free to SSU students.
