Services...
NWIC staff regularly assist Historical Resources Consultants undertaking research in California history and archaeology; and provides information to landowners, scholars, and the general public about archaeology, history, architecture, and historical resources legislation. Research and information services are provided on a fee-for-services basis to more than 100 federal, state, or local government agencies, to private environmental, planning, engineering, and development firms. Approximately 2000 requests are fulfilled each year.
FEE SCHEDULE*

- Records Search:
- Search by Historical Resources Consultant (onsite visit): $100 per person per hour
- Search by NWIC Staff: Staff time at $150 per hour
- Copy Request/Computer Bibliography Search: 15¢ per printed page $40 per hour
- Fax Fee: $1 per page thereafter
- Project Reviews of Planning Applications: $75 per project
- For Rapid Response: 50% surcharge on total fee
- Referral List of Historical Resources Consultants: Fax Fee applies if faxed; gratis if mailed

- Electronic page fee at 15¢

- Staff time at $40 per hour
