User InformationThe site is located 7.5 miles from the Sonoma State University campus and includes 460 acres of natural lands with hiking trails and the Marjorie Osborn Education & Research Center. The center houses a classroom/meeting room and public bathrooms. University and Group Tour ReservationsInterested groups and college and university classes are welcome to use the Preserve as an educational site. Non-SSU groups are charged $3 per visitor. A classroom with audio-visual equipment is available in the Education Center (see below). To make a reservation, please submit the Field Trip and Education Center Use Form posted on the Forms page. Elementary School Environmental Fieldtrip ReservationsThe preserve offers 4-hour, environmental education fieldtrips each Fall and Spring for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes. Admission is determined by lottery. Please refer to the Nature Programs page and contact the Preserve Manager for more information. Research UseThe Preserve welcomes applications from off-campus and on-campus researchers. For more information, please see the Research page. Applications are reviewed and responded to within 2 to 3 weeks. Education Center Meeting UseThe Education Center is available for classroom use and meetings for up to 24 people. Facilities include white board & pens, slide, overhead & data projector with Windows laptop, DVD/video player, 60 cup coffee urn, and small refrigerator. After consultation with Preserve staff, you may make arrangements for food service with on or off campus entities. Please submit the Field Trip and Education Center Use Form to reserve the Education Center. Contact the Preserve Manager for rates for SSU users. Rate Schedule
