Species Lists

Species of Special Concern

  • The Red-legged frog (Rana aurora draytonii) is federally listed as Endangered.
  • The Cooper's hawk (Accipiter cooperi), Sharp-shinned hawk (Accipiter striatus), Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos), Foothill yellow-legged frog (Rana boylii), and Western Pond Turtle (Clemmys marmorata), are designated as California Species of Special Concern by the California Department of Fish and Game.
  • The Lobb's aquatic buttercup (Ranunculus lobbii) is listed in the California Native Plant Society's Inventory of Rare and Endangered Vascular Plants of California.

Weather Data

Daily maximum and minimum temperatures have been recorded since January 1997 (with the exception of a few days). In addition, amounts of precipitation have been recorded. Data until November 17, 2005 is available.

The Preserve has more detailed weather data from a climate monitoring system installed by the laboratory of Professor David Rizzo of UC-Davis. This includes temperature, humidity, precipitation, and wind speed and measurements have been taken for the past five years. We can provide these data upon request.
