Accessing Internet Radio Broadcasts: Technical Notes
The appropriate software must be installed on your computer to read sound files. Although there is a numbing array of products available for audio applications, the free version of Real Player will enable access to the type of Internet radio broadcasts described in the article, as will Microsoft's Media Player.
If Real Player is not already installed, or if an updated version is desired, click here to go to Real Player's site, click on "Download Real Player", and follow the instructions. Alternatively, click here for the MediaPlayer.
n.b. Be aware that there are free - and for sale - versions of the software. Look for the free version, it's more than adequate for accessing Internet radio.
Internet Radio Stations in Spanish
This link (http://www2.jonction.net/~kairyv/radio/index.htm) presents a wealth of broadcast options from throughout the Spanish-speaking world. Not all of the stations on their lists broadcast live on the Internet, so look for links that say "Real Audio" or in some way indicate that the given station provides live content. Or, you may jump directly to the links for each country:
This link (http://www.mexicoradiotv.com/live.htm) has a very comprehensive and up-to-date list of broadcasts from Mexico. Stations are categorized by state (e.g. Durango, Jalisco, Zacatecas); sites from Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey are listed separately.
