Assignment #1 (10 points: Handout)
Assignment #2 (10 points):
- Choose an article from the "Suggested Readings" at the end of Chapter 6, Chapter 7, or Chapter 8
- Use the COMPLETE CITATION as the title for your paper.
- Provide a summary and your review of the article.
- How does this article expound on a topic in the chapter and enhance your understanding?
- Why is this article of interest to you?
Assignment #3 (10 points):
- Explore some sites on the WWW dealing with some of the topics covered in Chapter 9: Endoplasmic Reticulum, Golgi, lysosomes, the endomembrane system, etc.
- Choose three (3) that you think are worthwhile sources of information for students studying molecular biology.
- Give the complete address for each site (http://www. , etc.)
- Write a summary about what you found at that site and why you consider it a good, interesting source. Did this site link to other interesting sites?
- How does the web site enhance your understanding of that topic?
Assignment #4 (10 points):
- Choose an article from the "Suggested Readings" at the end of Chapter 12 or Chapter 13 (any topic of interest to you EXCEPT from those listed under the General References)
- Use the COMPLETE CITATION as the TITLE for your paper.
- Provide a summary and your review of the article.
- How does this article expound on a topic in the chapter and enhance your understanding?
- Why is this article of interest to you?
- DUE on Monday, May 5 at the beginning of class.
Assignment #5 (10 points):
- Compare and contrast some specific DNA research that was performed more than 30 years ago to some DNA research done less than 15 years old.
- Use Chapter 14 for reference (and any other references you care to use, but extra articles are optional).
- Clearly state the two pieces of research that you are comparing/contrasting in the title of your paper.
- Briefly provide a summary of the research you are using, and then a thoughtful comparison and contrast.
- Two to three pages, typed.
- DUE on Wednesday, May 14 at the beginning of class.
