Hello All 343 Students: May I suggest some midterm options
In drawing parallels among the four major works, you may consider the obstacles, i.e. The confines of the prison in Solzhenitsyn, the "trapped" environment in Frank, the "caged bird" syndrome in Ibsen, and the "confusion" associated with adolescence in Salinger. You may want to impart "what we can learn" from these stories. The challenges would most certainly include survival for some, coming to terms with the conditions of everyday life, negotiating relationships, and confronting the hardships such as bitter cold, lonliness, desire, oppression, sickness..."E-mail me or call me with questions or if you need clarification.
