
I have been fortunate to receive support from various grants and awards, among them: The Damien foundation of San Francisco, PEN Syndicated Fiction Project, Poets & Writers, Sonoma County Community Foundation NEA Frants to Individiual Artists. I have just been awarded two Sonoma State University grants for my project on Poetry and the Environment.
I have received both San Francisco's Small Press Traffic Award and the Sonoma County Arts Award for poetry. I have been a Finalist in the Katherine Anne Porter Prize for Fiction and the Felix Pollak Prize in Poetry. My work won Honorable Mention from the Wildwood Prize in Poetry, second place in the Eve of Saint Agnes poetry competiton and second place in the Hugh Luke Award for Fiction.
I have performed my work in California and out of state in galleries, performance spaces, academic environments, churches, community centers, cafes, clubs, and libraries for over a decade.
My work appears in literary magazines, including Slipstream, Columbia Review, Poets On, Green Fuse, Nightsun, and Negative Capability. I paint as well as write and live quietly in Western Sonoma County.
