What I Do at SSU
I teach both contemporary dance technique and movement improvisation. My classes combine current training methods and aesthetic concerns with a foundation built from the significant historical reference points of 20th century modern dance.
My Bio
Sheldon B. Smith, Co-Artistic Director of Smith/Wymore Disappearing Acts, has been making dance, music and video art for twenty years. Prior to his recent move to Berkeley he was a vital member of Chicago’s experimental performance community. His work merges artistic disciplines into a technologically adept theater experience that is sophisticated yet always aware of the frailty of the human experience. His work has been seen in many areas of the US including Alaska as well as Ireland and Switzerland.
