Flea In Her Ear

A Flea in Her Ear

Georges Feydeau’s Classic French Farce, translated by David Ives

Directed by Hector Correa, Artistic Director, Pacific Alliance Stage Company

From drop-dead satire to deadpan farce, Feydeau’s A Flea in Her Ear holds its own with nonstop amorous entanglements, unconsummated infidelities, mistaken identities, and breathless chases. It matters little whether a genre is high or low: the horseplay, the byplay, the wordplay’s the thing — the ready wit is all.

The Decameron

The Decameron Revisited

Directed by Judy Navas

Re-inventing of Giovanni Boccaccio's ribald romp

Set in Florence against the Great Plague of 1348 A.D.--where three out of four people succumbed to its devastation--a group of young adults flee the city to devote themselves to the joyful pursuit of storytelling in the mythic beauty of the surrounding Tuscan hillsides. Through this defiant act of chronicling humanity “warts and all”, a lusty and humorous portrait emerges which is both keen social satire and a revealing testament to a fascinating era.

The ultimate “my bad” love story.

It gets worse. Sex, street fights, secret potions, and a not too happy ending. Oh, and amazing poetry. This play has it all.
