Programs offered through University Support & Preparation Services

The department of University Support & Preparation Services at Sonoma State University is dedicated to providing high quality academic support and motivational services to Sonoma County students. These services include personal advising, group and individual tutoring, high quality classes, educational/cultural field trips, career planning, and assistance with applications for financial aid and college admission. The youth served by University Support & Preparation Services range from third-graders to college students.

The programs vary in scope and focus, but all are geared toward ensuring students are ultimately prepared for higher education. The vast majority of the programs' participants are from low income and/or first generation college families—families where neither parent (natural or adoptive) with whom the student resides has received a baccalaureate degree.
