Katheryn Horton has been coordinating SSU’s Early Assessment Program
since January, 2005. She previously taught journalism for SSU’s
Upward Bound program, and operated her own freelance writing and marketing
business for 15 years. A communication graduate from UCSD, Katheryn is
pursuing a Masters in Education at SSU.

Dr. Catherine Kroll is an Assistant Professor of Composition Studies and
English Education at Sonoma State University. She has been involved in the
Early Assessment Program since 2004 and has co-written curriculum for the
program. Her research interests include interdisciplinary writing, especially
in the field of ethnography and pedagogy.

Dr. Brigitte Lame is an assistant professor of mathematics at Sonoma State
University. She began teaching at SSU in the fall of 2002, and training
for the EAP leadership position in the summer of 2005. She received her
Ph.D from the Department of mathematics at Colorado State University in
1999. Her special interests include math education and dynamical systems.

Dr. Jerry Morris joined SSU’s EAP team as a math trainer in the summer
of 2005. He received his Ph.D. from Colorado State University in 1999, with
a special interest in the dimension of fractal states, combinatorics and
undergraduate math education. After spending a year as a visiting professor
at the University of Northern Iowa, he accepted a job as a teaching post
doctorate in mathematics at the University of Arizona. He came to SSU in
the fall of 2002.
ROBIN
FOGEL-SHRIVE
EAP English Workshop Leader
Robin Fogel-Shrive currently teaches 10th and 12th grade English,including
AP English Language,at Lower Lake High School in Lake County. A transplanted
New Yorker, Robin received her bachelors degree in English literature from
the State University College of New York at Oneonta, and her California
teaching credential from San Francisco State University. Robin is an active
participant in the California Reading and Literature Project's Sonoma State
region and is "thoroughly enjoying" her work with the 12th Grade
Expository Reading and Writing curriculum.
