WATERS Collaborative

Watershed Academics To Enhance Regional Sustainability (WATERS) is a collaborative endeavor between Sonoma State University and Sonoma County Water Agency (SCWA) to undertake projects that enhance watershed management and academic training of students. Preserves Director serves as WATERS Coordinator to assist in identifying projects and faculty and student participation.

Our initial projects focus on Copeland Creek and Laguna de Santa Rosa. SSU's Fairfield Osborn Preserve is located in the Copeland Creek's headwaters and the SSU campus is located on the Creek's alluvial fan, providing a geographic link and focus for investigation and study.


Who Can Participate - Agencies, non-profits, faculty, undergraduates, and graduate students.

Schedule - WATERS meets at the beginning of each semester to discuss possible projects and allocate funding for equipment and supplies. To attend, contact Preserve Director Claudia Luke.
