VOLUNTEER
The SSU Preserves are places of shared learning and discovery for students, researchers, and community members. We seek to engage students and community members in all aspects of Preserve management and study - from education and research activities to planning and administration.
Please contact us if you are interested in joining us - either as part of one of our ongoing programs or in your specific area of interest. We provide programs but also seek to engage anyone in their area of interest.
Naturalist Training
During a 5-week Naturalist Training Program, students and community members learn to lead outdoor educational activities at the Fairfield Osborn Preserve that teach about the Earth's interconnected systems at the Fairfield Osborn Preserve.
Join Our Field Crews
The diversity and beauty of our Preserves make them ideal outdoor classrooms and laboratories. However, there is much to do to retain our lands' natural character. Our volunteer field crews learn and undertake a variety of tasks under the guidance of our field crew leaders and our staff. Contact us!
