Sonoma State University has taken a proactive approach to preparedness and incident management. Emergency management is housed within Police Services at the University.
Sonoma State follows the standards of the California State Office of Emergency Services and the Federal guidelines of the National Incident Management System. A component of Sonoma State University's emergency program involves training employees in response tactics and incident management. This program trains new employees and updates and enhances the training of existing employees.
The Sonoma State University Emergency Management Program's emergency plan is updated annually. Some information in the publicly available plan is not available due to safety and security reasons.
