Subject: New Online Parking Decal and Account Management Program
Date: August 11, 2009
Police & Parking Services is pleased to announce that we have enhanced our parking operations to include online services! The new online system, which launched Monday, August 10th, experienced some technical difficulties related to Residence Hall decals and had to be temporarily disabled to correct the problem. We expect to re-enabled the system by Noon today, August 11th. Prior to disabling the system, we were glad to discover that many community members had already gone online to purchase their new decal and self-manage their parking account. Further information on this new program is detailed below.
The new system allows faculty, staff and students to sign on to Sonoma State Online Services and purchase semester decals, pay citations and access and update your parking account information.
Fall semester decals are now available for purchase. When purchasing online, customers will print a receipt that will also serve as a temporary parking permit that is valid for 10 days to allow time for your decal to arrive in the mail. Only a limited number of decals will be available in Customer Services, so we encourage everyone to try the new online service.
When purchasing a decal, it is necessary to associate a vehicle with that decal, whether purchasing online or in Customer Services. When you purchase your decal, please be sure to have your vehicle license plate number and the make of your vehicle with you.
Decals that are currently being paid through payroll deduction are still valid and do not need to be replaced. However, employees should log into the system to link a vehicle to their decal.
The Online Parking Services web page detailing the new services, including a Frequently Asked Questions page, has been posted for more information.
We are constantly seeking ways to improve our service. Please feel to contact Parking Services with suggestions for improvement or comments on our services. Special thanks to the folks at CMS, IT, Customer Services, Financial Services and Procurement for assisting with this important endeavor.
