Crime Alert/Timely Warning
Subject: Assault
Date: August 16, 2008
On Saturday, August 16, 2008, a private birthday party, not affiliated with any SSU group, was occurring in the Commons. At about 12:20 A.M. a fight broke out among the participants and a stabbing occurred. One victim received a wound to the abdomen and another victim received a wound to a finger. Both were transported and treated at a local hospital and released.
Witnesses identified three possible male subjects involved and said they all fled the scene in a 1993 Blue, Chevrolet, four (4) door, Caprice. One suspect was described as having black hair in dreadlocks and wearing a white tee-shirt.

- Always be aware of your surroundings
- You can always utilize emergency “blue light” call boxes and phones throughout the SSU campus to contact Police in an emergency
- If you see a crime in progress, get to a safe place and call Police
- Never attempt to apprehend or chase suspects
