Subject: Sexual Assault
Date: September 8, 2008
A female victim reported to SSU Police Services that she was sexually assaulted on Sunday, 09/07/2008 around 8 A.M. in the residential community by an adult male guest known to her.
The suspect is described as a 19 year old, Pacific-Islander male adult, 5 feet 8 inches, 155 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.
The University would like to remind the campus community:
If you are a victim of a sexual assault you have many options and resources available to you.
Remember:
- Get to a safe place as soon as possible. Your immediate safety is first.
- Call 911 or 707-664-2143 to report an assault to SSU Police Services.
- Call 707-545-7270 to speak confidentially to a victim advocate (UASA) or 707-664-2153 to speak confidentially to a counselor at SSU Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS).
- California Law and the SSU Student Code of Conduct prohibit assault
- You have options to file criminal charges, take civil action, and/or take administrative action through SSU against the suspect.
- If you think you may want to press legal charges evidence should be collected as soon as possible and always within 72 hours:
- Do not bathe
- Do not brush your teeth, smoke, eat or drink
- Do not change and/or wash the clothes you were wearing. (Bring a change of clothes with you if you go to the hospital.)
