Internship Description

Job Title: Mental Health Rehab Worker, relief on call

Compensation: paid
Amount/Type: $11.50 per hour
Internship Length: 1 year or longer
Hours Per Week: Varies, facility open 24-7, must be willing to work a graveyard if needed. Applicants must have availability in their schedule. May be called in to work a half shift driving.

Population: Adults
Focus: Crisis Intervention, Mental Health
Setting: Acute Residential Treatment

Duties:
- Develop, coordinate, implement, and monitor individual treatment plans with clients and other individuals to include intake, assessment, transition, and discharge planning.
- Complete the admission and discharge process of all clients, including the intial intake interview.
- Assist clients in developing and following a daily activity schedule in accordance with individual treatment/discharge plans.
- Facilitate groups and activities to include, but not limited to: psycho-educational groups, basic living skills, community outings, group and individual counseling.
- Coordinate with all persons involved in client treatment to include, but not limited to: physicians, case managers, treatment coordinators, and therapists to assure continuity of client care.
- Monitor and record client medications.
- Provide supervision of clients and maintain milieu.
- Driving to various hospitals and addresses and transporting mental health clients.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- B.A. or M.A. in psychology preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Pass health exam, Tuberculosis testing, background check, and fingerprint clearance.
- Must have a good driving record, submit proof of valid CDL and insurance. -Complete CPR and First Aid Training post-hire.
-Be able to deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring tact, poise, friendliness, and sensitivity.
- Be able to maintain integrity and confidentiality regulations in regards to client records.
- Must be able to work overtime as dictated by program needs.
- Must be able to communicate well in English, including verbally, in writing, and on the phone.

This is a six bed crisis residential facility. Great opportunity for psychology majors and anyone interested in going into the mental health field. This internship will provide a large amount of experience working with clients with a wide variety of disorders. If you have taken, or are planning to take abnormal psychology this is the perfect job to take your experience outside of the classroom!
