Job Title: Activity Assistant
Compensation: unpaid
Internship Length: 1 year
Hours Per Week: To be determined
Population:
Seniors, some Alzheimer's patients
Focus:
Education,
Mental Health, Cognitive and Spiritual Development, Social Activities
Setting:
Independent Assisted Living Facility
Duties: Motivate seniors in discussion groups, take walks, reminisce, read stories, and (optional) lead arts and crafts. Help with daily living tasks. Mostly assisting, and being a companion to our frail seniors. Some driving required (with company car)
Qualifications: Love people, good listener, open minded, patient and non judgemental. Students should be flexible and able to work weekends.
Additional Information: Currently hiring part time staff (20 hrs/week)
