Job Title: Social Recreation Intern-Camping Program
Compensation: unpaid
Amount/Type: N/A
Internship Length: Summer
Hours Per Week: Total of 135 hours (3 units) for training, preparation, and 2 weekends camping
Population: Adolescents, Adults
Focus: Autism, Developmental Disabilities, Mental Health
Setting: Training and preparation will occur at our Rohnert Park office and community sites; camp will be held at the Petaluma KOA.
Duties: Assist staff with a community-based camping program for adults and adolescents with developmental disabilities. Gain valuable experience by helping to create goals for camp, developing and directing social/recreation activities, leading a group of campers, and completing other tasks relevant to a career in social services.
Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age; receive fingerprint clearance; be flexible, patient, and reliable; enjoy camping; have a desire to work with people with developmental disablilities.
