Internship Description
Job Title: Tutor/ One-On-One Aid/Child Care
Compensation: Paid $15/hour
Internship Length: 1 semester + (long-term preferred)
Hours Per Week: Sun-Sat 6:00pm-9:00pm
Population: 13-year-old boy with full spectrum autism
Focus: Working with a child with special needs
Setting: Home & Community
Duties: Recreational, community-based outings in & around home. Teaching a variety of skills including those involving play, social interaction, life skills and speech.
Qualifications: Looking for someone who is patient, loving, strong, energetic, fun, creative and nurturing. Prefer someone with experience working with autism and/or working toward a degree in child development, psychology, occupational therapy, etc.
Additional Information: Would be working under the supervision of a consultant and be trained in behavior modification and descrete trials techniques. Hoping for a long term commitment. Opportunity for fun activities (swim, etc.)!
