Internship Description

Job Title: Intern

Compensation: Unpaid
Amount/Type: Access to many of our services as members; Certificate of Completion; Training in self-helf principles & peer support.
Internship Length: 1 Semester+ / Summer OK
Hours Per Week: Flexible (minimum 2 hours/week)

Population: Adults, Seniors, Multicultural
Focus: Mental Health, Outreach, Education, Human Resource Management, Other (Self-Help Center housing, employment resources, community education, support groups, peer counseling & advocacy).
Setting: Community Agency

Duties: Art Room assistance, Bilingual/Spanish assistance, Computer Lab assistance, Gardening assistance, Kitchen assistance, Office/Administrative assistance. (Please contact for more details).

Qualifications: The most desired quality for these positions is the ability to work with people who live with mental health difficulties. We are willing train and work with you, however, experiences and/or maturity are a plus.

Additional Information: This is a great opportunity for a student to experience and connect with our unique Client-Run Self-Help Center with hands-on experience. We look forward to giving non-consumer students an opportunity to learn how peer-run services work and also encourage students with mental health challenges to take part in our program.
