Job Title: Preschool Assistant
Compensation: unpaid
Amount/Type: Training
Internship Length: 3 month commitment
Hours Per Week: 1-5, 6-10, flexible during the hours of 8am-4pm Monday-Friday

Duties: YMCA Preschool Assistants work with preschoolers who are considered at risk of abuse or neglect (often referred by Child Protective Services). Most assistants help in the classroom or during meals, nap time, or play time in the afternoon. Assistants can read to children, lead learning activities, help teachers with planned activities, or explore their own interests in working with kids.
Qualifications: Must complete a TB screen to work with children. Desire to work with children ages 3 to 6.
Additional Information: Optional Domestic Violence Training begins September 12th (40 hours; certificate upon completion). Please see flyer in Psych. Dept. for more information.
