The Rec Center is offering, on a trial basis, the option of a payment plan for one-year memberships to the Recreation Center as a trial run for a maximum of five faculty and staff members. The payment plan consists of four equal payments of $65 due on the first day of each quarter. Those interested may contact Pam Su, Director of Campus Rec, at pam.su@sonoma.edu or Leslie Pryor, Student Memberships Coordinator, at pryorl@sonoma.edu by Febuary 25. If more than five people who respond, names willbe chosen at random. If the trial run is successful it will be offered it to all faculty and ataff next year, Pryor says.
Desktop Yoga continues to be offered during the spring semester on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:05 to 12:55 p.m. in Ives 80. The class is free and open to faculty and staff. This class is suitable for people of all abilities, says instructor Kathleen Hardy. "A gentle yoga practice can improve your circulation, digestion, muscle tone, and concentration. Retirement planning classes are being offered for members with less than five years remaining in their career. Employees can review their CalPERS benefits and work with certified financial planners to put their plan to the test. Subjects addressed include: What is CalPERS?, Retirement Income Sources, Service Credit, Retirement Formulas and Benefit Factors, Final Compensation, Retirement Calculation, Survivor Continuance, Retirement Benefit Payment Options, Post-Retirement Lump Sum Death Benefits, Retirement Benefit Estimates, Taxes & Your Retirement, Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA), Retirement Process, Keeping Informed, Working After Retirement, Health Benefits, and Online Resources.
