The SSU cast of "Vagina Monologues."
Suzanne Vargas is directing the campus production of Eve Ensler's, "The Vagina Monologues" in the Cooperage at 8 p.m. on Friday, February 29 and Saturday, March 1 on behalf of the V Day 2008 Campaign. Proceeds will benefit violence prevention programs on campus and in the community. Last year, more than 1150 communities hosted V-Day benefits around the world raising funds and awareness towards ending violence against women. These highly successful events raised more than $6 million through performance of Eve Ensler's award-winning play. On the heels of this success, Sonoma State University has joined this global movement as part of the V Day 2008 College Campaign.
Tickets for the event are $5 to SSU students, $10 faculty and staff, and $15 for general admission. For tickets call or visit the Sonoma Student Union, 4-2382. This benefit production is sponsored by Center for Culture, Gender & Sexuality, Division of Administration and Finance, Sonoma Student Union, Women's Genders Studies Club, Women's Gender Studies Department, and the School of Social Sciences.
