MIDNIGHT BREAKFAST
Help prepare breakfast for stressed-out
students at annual Midnight
Breakfast
Campus Dining, the Office of Residential Life and President Armiñana invite all staff and faculty to help cook and serve breakfast to the students living in the residence halls at the 8th annual Midnight Breakfast. On Thursday, May 1, from 10 p.m. to midnight, staff and administrators will participate in an event designed to wish the students luck on their finals and to give them an opportunity to see faculty members in their "world."
"It's always nothing but good times with good friends!" says Gina Geck.
Helping consists of getting to the Zinfandel dining hall at 9 p.m. to get an assignment and prep for the meal. Jobs include: cook, prep cook, stocking the line (where the food goes), dining room keepers, cashier, dish room, and a variety of other odd, yet fun, jobs.
Once the meal is over, participants usually grab a bite to eat and chat with the others who are working and then help clean up the dining hall. "It was so fun to work with Vice President Schlereth and President Armiñana, and to see them cook like ordinary people. The camaraderie is so fun! We never get enough time to do things like this together," says Vanessa Franklin, Director of Academic Scheduling.
