Portuguese Beach, one of the seventeen long and sandy beaches that make Sonoma Coast State Beach one of California's most scenic attractions, is the setting for this relaxing evening. Sit beneath a blanket of endless stars, warmed by the presence of your peers before a large bonfire listening to the inspiring calm of the ocean's waves crashing against the shore.

Features a hundred prints by Taiso Yoshitoshi (1839-1892). Sometimes considered
ancestors of modern manga, woodblock prints were known as ukiyo-e, pictures
of the "floating world" of entertainment.

this day hike is a mere 45 minutes from campus! Beginning under a hulking
canopy of ancient redwoods, the trail ascends to sweeping panoramic views
of the Pacific Ocean, and a clear view of shell beach, which awaits you below
for a group lunch spot.
Everybody loves Jelly Bellys, but not everyone knows how and where they
are made. It's a fun and free Saturday afternoon complete with free samples.
At $4 you can't go wrong joining us for this trip! We'll
be meeting in the Zinfandel Quad at Noon to determine the

Come join us as we help out at a local
garden with an amazing purpose - to grow organic fruits and vegetables for
the homeless. Students will be gardening, weeding, planting, and harvesting. Lunch
provided. To sign up, please contact Campus-Wide Events at the JUMP Office

Spend the day restoring our local creek. Students will be removing non-native
plants, weeding and mulching, and preparing the creek for native restoration. Must
wear closed toed shoes and pants as we will be working along the creek with
heavy and sharp tools; Lunch provided. To sign up, please contact

Monday, September 10
Join JUMP as we go to the local foodbank to sort and package food for distribution
to the county‚s homeless population. Your service helps the foodbank
provide food to over 49,000 people in Sonoma County each month.
Saturday, September 15
You are invited to attend the largest premier volunteer event focused on
the marine environment in the country. Each year, more than 50,000 volunteers
turn out to over 700 cleanup sites statewide to conduct what has been hailed
by the Guinness Book of Records as "the largest garbage collection" (1993). Come
join JUMP as we take care of our fragile marine environment by cleaning up

Discover the wilderness within yourself. This all male trip will ask relevant questions like: what does it mean to be a man in today's world? Immersed in the high country of Tuolumne Meadows, you can expect elements of backpacking, off trail hiking, writing exercises and meditation.

to leadership opportunities, skill building, teamwork, meeting new friends

Backpacking in this wilderness area will include technical hiking, encompassing
advanced 3rd class terrain. Situated in the Sierra high country; smaller and
less crowded than Desolation Wilderness, Granite Chief's pristine natural
beauty offer a uniquely primitive recreation experience and an experiential
learning opportunity you wont soon forget.

Half Dome is perhaps Yosemite Valley's most distinct feature. It stands
5000 feet above the valley floor, and provides magnificent views of engulfing
wilderness. The trail scales a thousand steps up the misty side of Vernal Falls
and meanders around the great Nevada Falls. The dome itself is not easily attained.
Hikers must hoist themselves up cables and slats of wood fastened to the granite
giant, before enjoying the grandeur of summit elevation. This trip appeals
to the nature buff, the photographer and the exercise enthusiast alike.
