Sitting all Day? Desktop Yoga Offers Relief
Desktop Yoga will meet from 12:05 to 12:55 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays
for the fall semester, beginning on Sept. 7 in Ives 80. The class is
open to all Sonoma State staff, faculty and students. It is particularly
beneficial for anyone who spends a good part of the day sitting and/or
working on a computer; but is also great for anyone who just wants to get
a good stretch, improve strength, and decrease tension and stress. It is
suitable for any abilities, and no special clothing or equipment is
needed. For more information, contact Kathleen Hardy at 4-2535 or kathleen.hardy@sonoma.edu.
Stevenson Hall West Entrance Gets a Facelift

The summer saw the Stevenson loading dock area get an updated look and feel. Since the building's construction in the 1960s (Stevenson was the first campus building), the loading dock was intended to serve only as a delivery site for vendors. It was the "back" of the building. The growth of the residential community, Schulz Information Center and the Recreation Center have drawn more of the campus community to the west side of campus and the Stevenson loading dock was being used as one of the building's main entrances.
Because of this, the loading dock entrance will be redesigned as the "west entrance" to be more useful and inviting to foot traffic.
There is area with two 15 minute commercial loading zone spaces. Vehicles parked beyond 15 minutes will be cited. An space was created between Stevenson and Nichols Hall where campus carts may park (with a charging area).
The project was completed at the end of July and was funded with minor Capital Outlay funds.
