Open Enrollment Period is Through Oct. 31

This year the health plan open enrollment period lasts through Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007.  Enrollment and changes become effective Jan. 1, 2008. Use this period to enroll and/or cancel enrollment in health, dental or flex cash change plans and add eligible family members to your health, dental and vision plans. Annual health plan statements were sent to all members in August. Open enrollment materials may be ordered by using the pre-paid postcard sent to your home from CalPERS or online at www.calpers.ca.gov or by contacting the CalPERS customer contact center at (888) 225-7377.

Low Cost Health Examinations Oct.3-Dec. 5

Low cost physical examinations and health appraisals for healthy adults and children in Sonoma County will be available through the Nursing Department Family Nurse Practitioner Program on Wednesdays Oct. 3 - Dec. 5 at the Family Nurse Practitioner Health Maintenance Center. The cost of a physical examination is $30, Pap test $45, cholesterol check $25, hearing tests are free and a DMV physical examination is $60. Services include a complete medical and health history, identification of health risk factors, complete physical examination and screening tests including blood pressure checks, vision, audiology, cholesterol, and Pap smears testing. Appointments can be made by calling 4-2466, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
