Campus Participates in National Depression Screening Day
National Depression Screening Day is coordinated on campus by the joint efforts of Counseling and Psychological Services and the Student Health Center with a presentation called "Coping with Depression" on Tuesday, Oct. 3 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Vineyard Room in Cabernet Village. The topic will cover how to recognize and respond to signs and symptoms of depression in ourselves and others.
Faculty and staff can advise students that they can also schedule a meeting with a counselor on Wednesday, Oct. 4 or Thursday, Oct. 5 to identify signs of depression and gain support for themselves and/or others. These meetings will take place at the Student Health Center and appointments can be scheduled by contacting the front desk at the Student Health Center in person or by phone, 4-2191. For interested students who are not able to participate on those days, Counseling and Psychological Services offers drop-in counseling Monday through Friday, noon to 1 p.m. and Monday-Thursday 3-4 p.m. on all days classes are in session. For further information, contact Keri Harris, Counseling and Psychological Services, 4-2153, or keri.harris@sonoma.edu.
