Grad School Fairs, Workshops Open

This year, SSU students are invited to graduate school fairs at neighboring campuses where they have access to more than 100 graduate and professional schools: San Francisco State University, Oct. 10, and UC Davis, Oct. 26. Interested students should see Career Services in Salazar 1070 for further details.

Students interested in graduate school programs in communications can join Melinda Barnard for an informational meeting on Oct. 12, noon-1 p.m., in Salazar 1052.

SSU Career Services and Academic Affairs hosts an Open House on Oct. 25 in Salazar 1070 to help students explore the graduate school process and showcase SSU graduate programs. Students can also attend afternoon workshops on how to prepare successful applications for grad school. Students can speak with an advisor and Kaplan test prep expert. Students attending an afternoon workshop are eligible for a drawing for a free KAPLAN test prep course valued up to $1,200.

Time Change for New Student Assistant Sign-up

Sign up for new student assistants is now held every Thursday at noon in the Administration and Finance office on the second floor of Salazar. Students are required to bring the Student Employment Form (SEF) and appropriate ID to satisfy I-9 requirements. For additional information and sign-up forms visit the student sign-up Web site. Special sign-up arrangements are available for those students who cannot attend a Thursday sign-up session or in the case of emergency hires. Phone 4-3278 to arrange a date and time.
