WASC Accreditation Discussion
Sessions Scheduled

Two informational sessions about the Western Association of Schools and Colleges accreditation process have been scheduled. All interested members of the campus community – faculty, staff and students – are invited to attend to learn about the WASC accreditation and the Capacity and Preparatory Review report and visit. President Arminana, Provost Ochoa, and members of the Accreditation Steering Committee will be available to answer questions and hear comments from the campus community about the process. The next discussion is Tuesday, December 4 from 1–2 p.m. in Schulz 3001. Additional sessions will be scheduled early in the Spring semester in advance of the WASC visiting team visit, March 12-14, 2008. WASC Visiting Team Selected

SSU will be hosting a WASC evaluation team for the University's Capacity and Preparatory Review on March 12-14, 2008. The team of six evaluators will receive SSU's Capacity and Preparatory Review Report on Dec. 20 in advance of the visit.

The team chair will be Paul L. Gaston, Provost and Professor at Kent State University. Additional members of the team include: Nalsey B. Tinberg, Professor of Mathematics, Occidental College; Desdemona Cardoza, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, CSU Los Angeles; Cecile Lindsay, Associate Vice President for Graduate and Undergraduate Programs, CSU Long Beach; Lena T. Rodriguez, Executive Director of Special Projects and Communications for the President, San Diego State University; and Terry M. Wildman, Director of the Center for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. The team will be accompanied by WASC liaison Ingrid Walker.
