has Election Guide

The University Library's elections guide
has received recognition in the "Librarians' Internet Index: Websites You Can Trust," reports Paula Hammett of the University Library.

"Elections: How to Be an Informed Voter" is a collection of links to websites with "non-partisan resources" for national elections and elections in California. Also included are links to sites about campaign finance, election reform and past election results.

AS Issues Non-Partisan Guide

A non-partisan PowerPoint presentation created by the Associated Students for use by the campus community is available at AS_Voter_Guide.ppt. Those who prefer a CD copy, or have questions, may contact Nadir Vassanjy, AS President, at as.president@sonoma.edu.

McCuan on the Air for Election Night

Political Science professor David McCuan provides election night commentary for a variety of media outlets on Tuesday, Nov. 7. For those who might want to listen in, his schedule includes:
7- 7:30 p.m.: KFTY TV (Channel 50) - Election issues
9:15-9:30 p.m: KRCB-TV (Channel 22) - State and national returns at that point.
After 10 p.m.: KQED-Radio (88.5 FM) - "California Report" for the California Wrap-Up segment.
All night: National Public Radio -"California Politics and Western states" election coverage with several segments throughout the evening via live feed back to D.C. Most of these segments consist of live, five-minute interviews on Nancy Pelosi, ballot measures across the U.S., and California election results. That coverage runs after 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. PST.

Rod Gilfrey Plays Jack London in the Sonoma City Opera Production of "Every Man Jack."

Sonoma City Opera's "Every Man Jack" Opens Nov. 11 in Vaudeville-Like Format

"Every Man Jack," a theatrical exploration of Sonoma's most famous historical figure and literary icon, Jack London, takes the stage at the Evert B. Person Theatre on Nov. 11, 12, 15, 18 and 19. The provocative, newly commissioned opera is inspired by London's groundbreaking biographical work, "John Barleycorn."

Presented by Sonoma City Opera, it tells the compelling story, through a Vaudeville-like format, of the adventurer, writer, and ultimately flawed genius's lifelong struggle with alcohol.
