Purchase Parking Decals Before Winter Break

The Spring 2008 parking decals are on sale now and the actual effective date of the decal is January 2, 2008. Employees who purchase these decals are encouraged to purchase them in Customer Services, Salazar Hall (M-F, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.) prior to the winter break.

Police and Parking Services is working on ways to improve and streamline the parking decal sales program. An announcement of the details will appear in the Spring '08 COPPS Newsletter, says Nate Johnson, Senior Director for Police and Parking Services.

Distribution of Pay Warrants on Dec. 31

December payday is December 31 and pay warrants will be released beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, December 31. Employees are cautioned not to take them to their banks until after 3 p.m. The posting date for direct deposit warrants is January 2, 2008.

Since the campus is closed for the holidays on payday, pay warrants are available for pick up after 9 a.m. on December 31, 2007 through January 2, 2008, at Police Services, located near the Cooperage, off Redwood Drive. A Photo ID is required to pick up your pay warrant.

Warrants not picked up at Police Services will be distributed in each department, by the warrant pick up clerk, after 9 a.m. on January 2, 2008.

Key Reminder for Departments
With Student Employees

Departments are asked to remind students holding campus keys to return or renew their keys by Dec. 21. Campus keys can be returned to Customer Services in Salazar Hall. If a student will continue serving a department through the spring semester, a new key request form must be submitted to Customer Services, signed by the dean or department manager. The campus key policy allows students to have keys for the period of one semester or summer. Failure to return/renew campus keys results in an administrative hold being placed on students' registration, grades, transcripts, and diploma. These steps are taken to ensure University security.

Important Reminders Regarding Student Assistants

• Fall semester graduating Student Assistants may not work past December 31. Remember to mark "final" on pay vouchers. For those who would like their paychecks mailed, attach a self-addressed stamped envelope to the voucher.

• Continuing Student Assistants enrolled in 6 or more units for the spring semester may work up to 40 hours per week from December 17 through January 26.

• As of January 1, 2008, the minimum wage will increase to $8.00 per hour and all Student Assistants below the new minimum will automatically be increased.
