Our Other Lives...
(Do you have special talents not obvious in your career at SSU? Feel free to share news of your activities in this new feature of NewBytes. Send us news of your upcoming gigs, exhibitions, performances or other off-campus activities so we can get to know each other better.)
In case you're looking for some free entertainment in a casual setting, come on down to Coffee Catz in Sebastopol on Friday, Jan 26. My band, the Chakranauts, will be playing there from 7:30 to 10 p.m. No cover. (But tips are graciously accepted!) The music is eclectic/Americana, a blend of folk-rock and alt-country with dashes of gospel and doo-wop -- a mix of originals and covers (Dylan, Lucinda, Beatles, Van Morrison, etc.) We're actually billed under one of our alter-egos, the Skillman Valley Boys, so the git-tars may be a little twangier and the vocals slightly more nasal than usual- David Hartranft, Administrative Coordinator/Academic Programs and Graduate Studies
