Uncle Sam voting booth"Visualizing Democracy" at Library Gallery

How some SSU art students might "visualize democracy" -- from hanging chads to variations on voting booths -- is the theme of a new exhibit called "Visualizing Democracy: A Juried Student Exhibition." at the University Art Gallery through January 5, 2005. The show consists entirely of works in all media submitted by more than 70 students from across campus. Advanced Gallery and Museum Methods students cut the choices down to 35 entries. Above, is a mixed media, piece called Uncle (War Junkie) Sam, 2004. The artist is Allan Kerr, a Vietnam War veteran who returned to SSU to resume his art career.
