A Weekly E-Newsletter for SSU Faculty and Staff

Applause Award
Ed Liddell,
Building Service Engineer, Facilities
Clark Kent? We do not think so. In Darwin Hall we have evidence that Superman is none other than Ed Liddell ! Ed's activities address problems before they become disasters. Thanks to Ed we are able to complete the semester in Darwin Hall and not evacuate months ago. Ed Liddell has helped us keep many pieces of antiquated equipment limping along. He is helpful, knowledgeable and resourceful. Biology appreciates all the help he has given our department and he most certainly deserves the recognition.
- Stephanie Thibault
Dept of Biology
Ed repaired several of our explosion proof refrigerators saving us thousands of dollars. Through out the last few semesters Ed promptly
repaired hood blowers and provided perfect steam supply to keep our various labs operational. Ed Liddell has done a wonderful job in keeping the building together.
- Nels Worden
Chemistry
Ed is the guy who keeps things running, but you don't see it. It is only when the heat is too hot or there is no water that we complain. He has kept the building going and deserves our commendation. In physics, we appreciate Ed is always there taking care of things before they are problems!
- Steve Anderson
Physics and Astronomy
Darius Spearman,
ICC Coordinator
Since he began his journey at SSU in 1998, Darius has brought much unity among ICC clubs/organizations.
He has been one of the best advisors that the students that participate in ethnic clubs/organizations have ever had. He does wonders for all to make sure that they are receiving adequate representation. He has worked extremely hard to bring a diverse group of lecturers such as Edward James Olmos, Ronald Takaki, and others.
If it wasn't for Darius, many clubs such as BSU, APIO, FASSU, MEChA, and others would not be as successful. He always puts the best foot forward and helps the clubs become successful. He is an integral part of SSU. He does wonders for all the students.
- Mariana Garcia, Outreach Advisor PreCollege Programs
Rod Baraz
Printer, KODA
Rod consistently provides the most excellent service to the Senate office. We have often presented him with urgent materials for reproducing and he always does his very best for us to get the job done in a short period of time. For a one man operation, serving the entire campus, he deserves applause on a regular basis!

December Payday is Dec. 31
The December payday is Dec. 31 and pay warrants will be released beginning 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 31, 2004 through Jan. 2, 2005 at Police Services, Sonoma Building, Verdot Village. Employees should not deposit them to their banks until funds are available after 3 p.m. on Dec. 31. A photo ID is required to pick up a warrant.

Student Keys Must Be Returned,
Renewed by Dec. 31
Students with campus keys must return or renew them by Dec. 31 to Customer Services in Salazar Hall. If a student will continue serving a department through the spring semester, a new key request form must be submitted to Customer Services, signed by the dean or department manager. The form can be found at www.sonoma.edu/afd/customer/forms/
studentkeyreqform.pdf
The campus key policy allows students to have keys for the period of one semester or summer. Failure to return or renew campus keys results in an administrative hold being placed on a student's registration, grades, transcripts, and diploma. These steps are taken to insure University security.

Additionally, printed directions to the campus from area airports, as well as MapQuest and Yahoo! maps, can also be found at that site. A copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader is needed to view some of the files. Campus maps are coordinated by the University Affairs Office and are reviewed for updates twice per year or as needed.
