Eric McGuckin, Hutchins School, presented his paper "Conspicuous Experience: Extreme Travel and Status Competition in the 21st Century" at the Leisure and Liberty in North America conference at the Sorbonne, Paris, France, Nov. 2004.

Terry Wright, Geology, presented a paper on "Geology, soils and wine quality in Green Valley" at the Green Valley Symposium, Morrells Restaurant, New York City on Nov. 8. His presentation to the New York wine industry included demonstrations of the qualities of soils and discussion on the chemical and physical characteristics that make a great winegrowing soil.

Elizabeth Burch, Associate Professor in Communication Studies, is first author of a co-authored paper entitled, "Counter-Hegemony and Environmental Justice in California Newspapers: Source Use Patterns in Stories about Pesticides and Farm Workers." The article is published in the Autumn 2004 edition of Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly.
