Time to Update Disabled Student Services Information

Disabled Student Services wants faculty to be aware that current students registered with DSS should be reminded at the start of each semester to:
a) Come into DSS to get accommodation authorization forms;
b) Sign up for testing rooms for the entire semester as testing space it is limited
c) Meet with faculty individually within the first few weeks of the semester to arrange for the logistics of their accommodations (i.e. testing room, length of test; how to get test to/from testing site).

DSS has a brief form that faculty can fill out to designate what items can be in the separate testing room during the exam time as well as how the exam is to be returned to the faculty upon completion.

DSS encourages students who have not registered yet with the office for the spring semester, but who feel they might be eligible for services at SSU, to do so as soon as possible.  Complete information about program eligibility criteria may be found on the Disabled Student Services website at www.sonoma.edu/sas/dss/.

DSS does not provide learning disability assessments, but can provide referrals for off-campus testing.  For further information, contact DSS staff at 4-2677.
