Classical Indian Music Concert, Oct. 7

Music Professor Laxmi G. Tewari performs a concert of classical North Indian vocal and instrumental music with a distinguished group of guest artists at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7 in Ives 119. The program consists of Indian classical Ragas and a Bhajans, or devotional songs.

Ready. Set. Go! Open House on Tap for Oct. 8

SSU opens its doors to the community from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday October 8 to share what is unique about the campus and the people who make it the valuable resource it is to the region. Supported by the cities of Cotati and Rohnert Park as well as the Cotati Chamber of Commerce, the Open House is an opportunity for students of all ages to explore life at the University and see the many dimensions of the campus. Political forums, discussions such as "The Constitution and Current Events," performances by Comedia del Farte and the German Club, a preview of LifeLong Learning, Tours of the Geographic Information Center, the new recreation center, the Environmental Technology Center, the Cerent Labs, as well as demonstrations from the physics and astronomy and chemistry department enliven the day. A complimentary shuttle donated by Thunderstar Stages takes guests between the campus to La Plaza Park in Cotati.
