The Stickiness of Parking Decals
To assist with the removal of the expired decals, SSU Police and Parking Services staff will remove expired windshield decals beginning every Thursday until Nov. 17. Just stop by the Police and Parking Services Building in Verdot Village. Last fall, SSU adopted a new type of parking decal, which is designed to adhere to the inside lower left corner of a windshield. This change was the result of several complaints concerning the old decals, including having to affix them to the vehicle’s paint and problems associated with fraud. Unfortunately, the vendor used the wrong adhesive making the Fall ’04 and Spring ’05 decal difficult to remove. The vendor corrected this problem beginning with the Summer ’05 decals.
Keep an Emergency Supply of Medications
The Student Health Center reminds faculty, staff, and students who are taking medication to keep at least a three to five day supply of medication with them while they are on campus or in transit, since in the event of a major earthquake, flood, or other disaster, prescription and non-prescription medications may not be readily available. Lack of access to outpatient medication was linked to many of the medical difficulties related to Hurricane Katrina, says health center director Georgia Schwartz.
